A concept initiated by Chris Davies at her home in Buckton in the idyllic Welsh Marches on the borders of Herefordshire, Shropshire and Wales, Chrissie’s Kitchen is now the home of ‘Cooking with Taste’ cookery courses.

Simple Italian
Produce your own pasta for lasagne, tagliatelle - and stuff your
own ravioli with spinach & cheese! Make pizza dough for your
pizza Napoletana and dip into Elizabeth David for Petti di Pollo
alla Bolognese (Chicken breasts with ham & cheese). Learn to
cook 15 minute light pasta lunches. Multo bene.
Basic Meat & Fish
Cookery
Learn to choose the best & freshest cuts of meat and types of
(sustainable) fish. A trip to see a local butcher & fishmonger
will be followed by cooking the fruits of the morning’s travels.
This course is a must for anyone who, for example, doesn’t know
what to do with shin of beef or why anyone should buy it or for
those who are unsure about fish and shellfish. Impress lots of
people, use your local butcher and fishmonger and never feel the
need to buy from Tesco again!
Curry Secrets
Discover the essential techniques and spice combinations to
produce sensational Indian meals ‘from scratch’. Learn how to
succeed with rice and how to make your own chapatis, vegetable
bhajis and colourful side dishes. For serious curry lovers
wishing to cook their favourite dishes – plus a few they have
yet to experience – whether hot or mild, vegetarian or meat,
this course is for you! Contact to discuss your preferences.
Delicious Deserts
Make perfect profiteroles, miraculous meringues, lemon and
butterscotch and fruit tarts, panacotta with seasonal berries –
and more!
Gentlemen in the kitchen
Exclusively for you – a ‘Cook to Impress’ day is a must for
those who would love to do just that but lack the confidence to
try. Gentlemen, the gauntlet is down. Be prepared to impress by
producing – with ease, a fantastic three course meal that will
taste as good as it looks.
OR – alternatively some may wish to cover the basics of every
day cooking and buying of good food. Please contact to discuss.
Further details will follow – but again, the emphasis is on
flexibility, so if your area of choice has yet to be mentioned,
just contact to arrange.
